When you need caravan recovery
Most caravan recoveries start in one of four ways. A breakdown on the road — the tow car gives up, or the caravan itself has a problem. An accident, where the caravan can’t safely be towed on. A flat tyre on the caravan, with no spare or no safe place to change it. Or a caravan stuck on a campsite pitch — soft ground after rain is a common one. Whatever the cause, the fix is the same: a truck that can load the caravan properly and move it without more damage.
How caravan recovery works
Call 0800 099 6565 and tell us where you are and what you’ve got. We agree a fixed price on the phone before we dispatch — no call-out charge added later, no surprise on arrival. The operator loads the caravan onto a flatbed or trailer, so it doesn’t need a tow car at all. Then it goes where you want it: your home, a garage, or back to the campsite.
If your tow car has broken down too, tell us when you call. We’ll work out the best way to move both — the caravan and the car — rather than leaving one behind.
What to have ready when you call
- Your location — a postcode, a campsite name and pitch number, or a WhatsApp location pin. A pin is the fastest way for us to find you.
- The caravan — single or twin axle, and roughly how long it is. That decides which truck we send.
- The tow car — is it with the caravan, and is it drivable? If not, say so.
- Where it needs to go — your home, a garage, or another site. Any address in the North West works.
How much does caravan recovery cost?
It depends on the distance and the size of the caravan — a twin-axle caravan on a long tow costs more than a small single-axle a few miles down the road.
